What are synthetic Opals?

Pacific Blue synthetic opals are meticulously grown in a lab for over a year and are GIA certified. They have a similar composition to natural opals, the process is just sped up in a lab. These opals are stronger and more scratch resistant than natural opals, so they are great for everyday wear.

What is Gold-Filled?

Gold-filled typically contains 5% or 1/20 gold by weight. It's an actual layer of gold-pressure bonded to another metal. Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plating as filled literally has 100% more gold than gold plating. Gold filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant. It does not flake off, rub off or turn colors. Gold filled jewelry is an economical alternative to solid gold.
